Safaricom Dandia Promotion

The following terms and conditions apply to the Safaricom Dandia Promotion (“the Promotion”) and by participating in this Promotion, you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the same: -

1. The Promotion

Under this Promotion,eligible subscribers will

1. Receive a personalize offer of 50 Minutes for Kshs. 10/= via 444 for the first 90 days or

2. Receive a personalized offer 500MB data bundle for ksh. 10/= via 444 for the first 90 days, for new subscribers who join the Safaricom network during the promotional period.

2. Eligibility

This Promotion is open to all new PrePay Subscribers joining the Safaricom network.

3. Promotional period

The Promotion will run for ninety (90) days commencing from 0000 hrs 12th December 2021 and will expire at 1159 hrs 11th March 2022 (“Promotional Period”).

4. How to participate in the Promotion

1. You will receive an SMS confirming successful registration and activation of the Safaricom SIM card, whitelisting you for two offers:

   1. Offer 1: 50Minutes for Kshs.10 via 444 that will be valid for three (3) hours.

   2. Offer 2: 500MB for Kshs.10 via 444 that will be valid for three (3) hours during the Promotional Period.

2. Dial *444#OK. You will be presented with the above offers.

3. Select your preferred offer and proceed to pay either through your airtime or M-Pesa

4. You will receive a message confirming successful purchase.

Other Terms of the Promotion

1. The validity of the data and minutes resources will be three (3) hours as indicated in clause 4 (a) above.

2. You can purchase the resources up to five (5) times in a day during the Promotional Period.

3. Upon depletion or expiry of the resources, if you continue to make calls, browse or send SMSs, you will be charged at the prevailing published rates using the airtime available on your line

4. It will not be possible to make international calls using the bonus resources.

5. Unutilized resources will NOT be rolled over.

6. We will send you periodic notifications informing you of the balance on your bonus to enable you purchase resources

7. You can check your bundle balance by sending the SMS Bal to 144.

6. Privacy

1. Definition

   “Personal Information” means personal identifiable information as prescribed in the Data Protection Act which includes but is not limited to name, address, phone number, identification number, location data.

2. Collection of information

   We are required by law to collect certain personal information and are legally obligated to deny you the Tariff if such information is not availed.

   Apart from the legal obligation mentioned above, we also need to collect your Personal Information for quality Tariff delivery. Please note that although this is voluntary, without such information we may not be able to provide quality Tariff.

3. Privacy

   We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of the information we collect from you. Our privacy statement, as updated from time to time, explains how we treat your personal information, who we share your information with and measures taken protect your privacy when you use our Tariff. 4. Minors

   When registering a minor as a Safaricom subscriber, a person with parental authority shall open and maintain an account in their name for and on behalf of the minor. For purposes of these Terms and Conditions, a person with parental authority shall include the birth parents of a minor, legal guardian or other person who can demonstrate legitimate authority over the minor’s affairs.

7. General Terms of Usage

1. You cannot transfer (Sambaza) Dandia resources to other subscribers

2. Upon purchase, subscribers will earn Bonga Points as indicated in the published terms and conditions of the Safaricom Loyalty Program.

3. Safaricom Dandia resources are not for re-sale. You therefore will not resell the Bundles purchased from Safaricom without its consent. Safaricom reserves the right to withdraw this Promotion from you if you breach these terms.

Safaricom reserves the right to amend or vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the Tariff at any time. In any of these events, notice will be given via media advertisements (including at Safaricom’s discretion, on the Safaricom website (safaricom.co.ke) and will be effective immediately or as at the date referred in such notifications.
