1. General Questions

It's a short-term loan for farmers to access immediate cash after delivering produce to registered buyers. Repayment is automatically deducted from your buyer's payment (check-off) or via direct repayment.

2. Eligibility & Application

Active farmers (18–75 years) registered with a buyer for at least 3 months. Your loan limit depends on delivery history and credit score.

  2. Register on DigiFarm via *944# (complete KYC with ID, location).
  3. Opt-in for the loan. Approval is instant based on your credit score.

No. You must be registered with a buyer who uploads your delivery data to DigiFarm.

3. Loan Terms & Costs

Up to KES 50,000, based on your credit score and delivery history.

  • Interest: 4% per month.
  • Platform fee: 1% of the loan (min KES 200, max KES 1,000).
  • Late penalty: 5% annual fee after a 30-day grace period.

30–45 days, depending on your value chain. Repayment aligns with your buyer's payment cycle.

4. Repayment Process

Two options:

  • Check-off: Automatically deducted from your buyer payment.
  • Direct repayment: Dial *944# to repay via M-Pesa.

Early repayment is encouraged! You may receive incentives like discounted interest or airtime.

After 30 days, a 5% penalty applies. Late repayments affect future eligibility and credit score.

5. For Buyers

Contact DigiFarm agents. Complete KYC, integrate your collection system (IoT scales, app, or Excel), and register farmers.

  • Automated check-off for loans.

The DigiFarm platform automatically deducts loan amounts from farmer payments. You pay the net balance to farmers via M-Pesa, bank, or Sacco.

Yes! We comply with data protection laws. Your information is only used for loan processing and requires your consent.

It considers delivery history, CRB status, and past repayment behaviour.
