DigiFarm is a digital platform offering farmers access to farming solutions, advisory services (e.g., weather and agronomy tips), and financial products like loans (Cash advance and Input Loans). Services are delivered via the DigiFarm USSD (*944#).

Farmers aged 18+ with a valid mobile number registered with Safaricom are eligible.

  • Dial *944# (USSD) accept the Terms and Conditions.
  • Provide your Personal Information (e.g. ID, phone number, select location your farm is based) and Farming Information (e.g. land size, crops).
  • Farmer Profile Creation: Uses your farming data to connect you with tailored solutions.
  • Loans: Access loans for Cash advance and farming inputs (disbursed via your DigiFarm Account to Mpesa)
  • Input Redemption: Collect farming fertilizer from authorized DigiFarm agrovet or Ministry of Agriculture warehouses e.g. NCPB using loan vouchers.
  • Application: Submit via USSD. Approval depends on credit scoring and farming profile.
  • Disbursement: Loan amounts are credited to your DigiFarm Account (after deducting fees).
  • Repayment: Repay via mobile money by the due date. Default incurs penalty fees.
  • Insurance: Loans include mandatory insurance for crops/livestock and credit life cover.
  • Loan Fees: Disclosed on USSD before approval.
  • Penalty Fees: Charged for late repayment (percentage of the outstanding loan).
  • Shared With: Financial Partners (for loans), for credit scoring
  • Purpose: To provide services, comply with regulations, and improve solutions.
  • Privacy: Data is protected under Safaricom's Privacy Policy (view here).
  • Late repayments incur penalties.
  • After 90 days, your account will be in default and may be closed, and legal action taken.
  • Defaults will lead to affecting future creditworthiness.

Yes. DigiFarm may visit your land with prior notice to verify farming information (e.g., crop health, land size). Photos may be taken for validation.

  • Repay all loans, then request closure via USSD/App.
  • Outstanding debts must be settled before closure.
