Safaricom Informs M-PESA Customers of Service Unavailability

Nairobi, 27th August 2012… Leading Integrated Communications service provider Safaricom regrets to inform its customers of an outage on the M-PESA service since 10.00 am this morning.

As a result of this, M-PESA customers are not able to access M-PESA services including sending money, depositing and withdrawals, ATM withdrawals, buying airtime, bank to M-PESA, pay bill and buy goods as well as web transactions. 

Expressing regret over this outage, Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore said, "Our technical team is working around the clock to ensure that the service is operational within the shortest time possible. We would also like to assure all our M -PESA customers that their money is safe."
