Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu Initiative Provides Infrastructure Support To Over 20 Schools In Seven Counties

Schools in Rift Valley, Coast and Lower Eastern receive equipment to help improve learning conditions.

Nairobi, 28th January, 2022…. Over 3,000 students in seven counties from the Rift Valley, Coast and Lower Eastern regions have benefited from infrastructure support from Safaricom Foundation’s Ndoto Zetu initiative. More than 20 learning institutions received classroom furniture worth KES 2.5 million to help facilitate learning as schools re-opened.

In the Rift Valley region, schools in Kericho and Narok counties received assorted furniture with Cheborge Girls High School and Reresit Secondary school in Kericho and Ololunga Primary School in Narok County being among the beneficiaries.

At the Coast, Mbaraki, Mtepeni and Mambura Primary Schools in Mombasa, Kilifi and Taita Taveta counties respectively, were among a dozen schools that got desks and chairs.

“We have started commissioning the latest Ndoto Zetu projects with a focus on education which is one of our key pillars. Our aim is to provide adequate physical infrastructure to ensures safe, inclusive environments that nurture learning for all, regardless of background or disability,” said Joseph Ogutu, Chairman, Safaricom Foundation.

In the Lower Eastern region, students from Machakos and Kitui counties in schools such as Kanaani Primary School, Mavuni Primary School and AIC Kwa Mutula Secondary Schools received class furniture.

Ndoto Zetu is Safaricom Foundation’s flagship philanthropic initiative which calls on Kenyans to partner with the Foundation to have their community dreams and aspirations brought to life.

Over the next three months Safaricom Foundation will commission over 400 Ndoto Zetu projects in health, education and economic empowerment worth KES 100 million targeting two million beneficiaries.
