Safaricom Flags-Off Twaweza Live

Safaricom (NSE:SCOM) has today flagged off the Twaweza Live Experience which will see the company interact with over 28 million customers across the country over the next 7 months.

The campaign, which was officially launched a week ago is set to take place in different regions including Rift, Central, Eastern, Coast, Nyanza, Western and Nairobi.

“Safaricom Twaweza Live aims to solidify our connection with our customers and transform lives in communities across the country. The experience has been designed to go to where our customers are, as we continue to bring our products and services closer to them. More importantly, we are also looking to understand their needs and how we can contribute to the local communities by making impactful investments.” said Charles Kare, Acting Director Consumer Business Unit, Safaricom.

Roadshow caravans will visit various towns and shopping centers across the country interacting with customers and educating them on the various products and services on offer.

Safaricom Foundation will also be conducting free medical camps in partnership with the Kenya Diabetes Management and Information Centre and M-TIBA targeting over 12,000 people across Kenya.

Through Twaweza Live, six Corporate Social Investment (CSI) projects will be supported by the Foundation as selected by the community members in the different regions during the series.

Over 1,000 Kenyan musicians will benefit from SKIZA boot camps which will be conducted during the series to empower them on how to make money from their music and keep track of their earned revenue.

The campaign will also focus on growing and nurturing local music talent by giving local acts an opportunity to perform in the live music concerts across the country.

The first leg of the Safaricom Twaweza Live Experience will kick off in the Rift region with the opening of the company’s second retail shop in Nakuru town marking the start of the campaign. This will be followed by a flag off of the roadshow caravan which will traverse different parts of Nakuru, then head off to Kericho and finally set camp in Eldoret.

Safaricom will be targeting thousands of farmers through its Digifarm solution which recently won an East Africa Com award for the Most Innovative Service. A new depot will be opened in Burnt Forest in partnership with iProcure to support the farmers in the Rift region.

The campaign will culminate in the Trans Nzoia region with a live music concert at Eldoret Sports Club on 26th of May featuring Naiboi, Vivian, Njugush, Redsan, Nyashinski, Mercy Masika, Sweet Star, DJ Joe Mfalme and Dj Malaika.
