TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE SAFARICOM STORI IBAMBE SERVICE

The following terms and conditions apply to the Safaricom Stori Ibambe 200% Bonus Airtime Service (“the Service”) and by opting into the Service you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted the same:

1.The Service and Eligibility

  1. This Service is open to all new and existing Safaricom individual PrePay subscribers.

  2. The Service will not be open to the following subscribers:

    1. All PostPay subscribers.

    2. All Corporate and SME subscribers.

    3. Roaming subscribers.

    4. Prepay Subscribers who are not active on the Network on the Service start date.

2. Launch of Service

The Service will launch on 17th June 2020.

3.How to Paricipate

  1. Eligible subscribers (“Participating Subscribers”) will be auto enrolled into the Service.

  2. Each Participating Subscriber may receive an SMS requiring them to spend a certain amount based on their average daily usage (“the Target Amount”).

  3. Participating subscribers may receive flash messages informing them of how much more they need to spend to achieve their daily target.

  4. Upon reaching the Target Amount, each Participating Subscriber shall be awarded bonus airtime (“the Bonus Airtime”) equivalent to 200% of the Target Amount.

  5. The Participating Subscriber may also confirm/check their Target Amount and the balance of the Bonus by dialing*460#.

  6. Participating Subscribers may also opt out of the Service by dialing*460# and selecting the option made available for unsubscribing.

  7. Participating Subscribers may confirm their Target Amount by dialing*460#.

  8. New Safaricom subscribers will be eligible to participate in the Service immediately after activation.

  9. Subscribers will only receive their daily Target Amount if their Safaricom line is active.

4. Use of Bonus airtime

  1. You can use the bonus airtime to make voice calls or purchase the following pre-defined data bundles by dialling *544#:

    5/= 2MB, valid till Midnight
    12/= 5MB, valid till Midnight
    25/= 10MB, valid till Midnight
    60/= 25MB, valid till Midnight
    150/= 60MB, Valid till Midnight
    300/= 150MB, valid till Midnight
  2. You can only buy bundle with your Stori Ibambe bonus allocation.

  3. The expiry of the bundle resources will be same day at midnight.

  4. The data bundle resources cannot be transferred via sambaza.

  5. The resources will be used up in priority to all other data bundles, except Tunukiwa hourly bundles

  6. You will ONLY see bundles whose prices are equal to or lower than your total bonus allocation.

5. General Terms

  1. The use of the Bonus Airtime will not earn Bonga Points.

  2. Bonus airtime is not transferable (Sambaza).

  3. The Target set out must be achieved by 2359 hrs of the calendar day for the subscriber to be awarded Bonus Airtime.

  4. The Participating Subscriber shall be notified by way of an SMS of the applicable Bonus Airtime awarded.

  5. The Participating Subscriber may confirm/check the balance of the Bonus by dialing *460#.

  6. M-Pesa and Okoa Jahazi service charges shall not be taken into account in the calculation of the Target.

  7. The Bonus Airtime may be used for on-net voice calls and on-net and SMS and off-net local calls and off-net SMS and the Predefined data bundles in Clause 4a and MUST be utilised by 2359hrs of the calendar day when it was awarded, otherwise the Bonus Airtime shall expire and not be available for use.

  8. The utilisation of the Bonus shall be subject to the standard applicable rates for various service offerings provided by Safaricom to its subscribers.

  9. Safaricom reserves the right to increase or decrease a subscriber’s Target Amount where their average daily usage has changed.

  10. The Bonus Airtime will be used in priority to your purchased airtime, Safaricom Advantage Plus voice bundles and SMS bundles.

6. Privacy

We are committed to respecting and protecting the privacy of the information we collect from you in compliance with the applicable laws and obligations on data use and privacy. 7. Amendement if these Terms

Any update or amendment to these Terms and Conditions including privacy terms will be available on the Safaricom website - www.safaricom.co.ke and will take effect from the date of notification of the update or amendment.

8. Extension of Terms

  1. Save as modified above, these Terms and Conditions are supplemental to and subject to the published Safaricom Prepay Terms and Conditions and other Services that you may be using.

  2. Safaricom reserves the right to amend or vary these terms and conditions or to withdraw the Service at any time. In any of these events, notice will be given via SMS to the eligible subscribers and will be effective immediately or as at the date referred in such notifications.
