Safaricom Targets Regional Growth In Narok

Nairobi, January 20, 2016… Safaricom  has opened a state-of-the-art retail experience centre in Narok County as it seeks to provide residents of the rapidly growing town with easier improved access to its wide range of products and services.

The opening of the retail shop at the New Narok Mall reinforces Safaricom’s commitment to closing the gap between consumers and the brand through building an increasing number of touch points around the country.

Speaking when he unveiled the new shop alongside Governor Samuel Ole Tunai, Area MP Richard Ole Kenta and other local leaders, Safaricom Chief Executive Bob Collymore reiterated the company’s pledge to create and deliver products and services that are relevant to consumer needs, and creating avenues through which consumers could easily interact with the brand.

“The opening of this retail shop is a sign of our commitment to showing our customers that we care; that we want to ensure that they are always connected, always in control, that they are rewarded for their loyalty and they have easy access to us,” said Mr. Collymore.

“This shop stands as a promise to the community of Narok that Safaricom is a brand that is in business to serve them, and to deliver specialized service to the residents of the area,” he added.

Safaricom, which recently celebrated 15 years of operations, has adopted a new regional approach which has seen the company devolve its operations to dedicate resources directly within the counties, where teams have been tasked with focusing on enhanced service delivery and customer engagement.

The new approach aims to bring services closer to consumers so as to ensure that investment in technology, products and services are made with the needs of different regions taken into account.
