What is the objective of the promotion?

  • Increase number of active Lipa Na M-PESA customers

When will the promotion run?

The promotion will run for 2 months starting from Tuesday 6th March 2018 to 6th May 2018.

Who is eligible for the promotion?

This incentive is open to all Lipa Na M-PESA (LNM) Buy Goods existing customers and any new LNM customers that will come in during the promotion period who make a successful buy goods transaction at any LNM Buy Goods merchant countrywide.

Are there any exemptions?

Only payments made to buy goods tillswill be recognized for this promotion. The following transactions will not be considered:

  • P2P Transactions
  • C2B Transactions
  • B2C Transactions

What matrix will be used to award customers for the promotion?

Existing LNM customers have been clustered into segments based on their current average weekly spend and given a weekly target (see customer award matrix below). Any new LNM customer will fall into the Ksh. 500 and below customer monthly spend category. The targets are set on a weekly basis therefore the customer will be rewarded every week once they hit their target.

What are the mechanics of the promotion?

  • The week will run from Monday to Sunday.
  • Customers will be given a weekly value target to achieve. This will be communicated via SMS.
  • If the customer meets the target then they will receive an instant cash back incentive to their M-PESA account
  • A confirmation SMS message informing them of the incentive awarded will be sent to the customer number.
  • Customer may also confirm/check their target and reward as well as do the below by dialing *234#:
    • Opt In/Out
    • Check Weekly Spend and
    • Check Weekly target
