How long does it take to get the cash back once I make a parking payment?

You will receive the cash back within 48 hours after you have made the parking payment via M-PESA.

How long does the incentive run for?

The incentive will run for three months - from 10th December 2018 to 10th March 2019.

How do I check if I have received the incentive?

Once the incentive has been paid, you will receive a payment from Lipa parking Na M-PESA Cashback.

What happens if 48hours have lapsed and I haven’t received an incentive?

How do I sign up for the M-PESA 1Tap service?

If you are a registered M-PESA user, you require to visit the nearest Safaricom shop to activate an M-PESA 1Tap card.

How does the service work?

+

At entry

  • Customer drives into mall, taps their M-PESA 1Tap card at the entry point station.
  • Card is verified, the barrier opens and parking billing commences.

During Payment

When customer is ready to leave:

  • Customer dials *486# on their phone from anywhere within the parking site.
  • The amount to be paid is presented on the customer’s phone with the ticket number, location and duration spent.
  • Customer selects option 1 to pay through M-PESA.
  • Customer gets a pop-up on their phone with a prompt to enter their M-PESA PIN.
  • Confirmation message from M-PESA and KAPS parking is sent to the customer.

At Exit

  • Customer taps their M-PESA 1Tap Card on scan area on the exist scanner.
  • Payment is validated.
  • Vehicle is allowed to exit.

How much will it cost me to use the service?

The parking charges will be displayed once you dial *486# to query your bill.

If I lose my card after entry into the parking area, what happens?

Kindly contact the KAPS parking management office on site or call the KAPS contact number 254-709-899000. Card replacement can be done at the nearest Safaricom shop.

What happens when I change my mobile number?

You will be required to activate an M-PESA 1Tap card for this mobile number at the nearest Safaricom shop to access the service.

What do I do when I select pay and there is no option to enter M-PESA PIN?

What happens when I exceed the grace period allowed after making the payment?

You will be required to make an extra payment for the parking charges incurred. Dial *486# to see the new charges and complete payment.

Can I cancel the transaction during the payment process?

As long you have not yet entered your M-PESA PIN number to authorize the payment, you can cancel the transaction at any time.

What do I do when the amount charged has been deducted from M-P ESA and the bill is not cleared (confirmation message received from M-PESA but not from KAPS parking provider)?
