What do I need to subscribe to Safaricom CCTV Backup?

  1. Valid business permit or trading license/certificate of incorporation
  2. Owner’s national ID number or passport/company’s Pin certificate
  3. A refundable equivalent to one month’s subscription to the respective package
  4. Pre-payment for your first month’s usage
  5. Duly filled out application form filled

How long will it take for this service to be installed on my premises?

Depending on your level of readiness, the service can be up in 3 to 5 days from the point when you sign up for the service

Can I use the Safaricom SIM card to access the internet?

Do not use the SIM card in your camera for anything other than transmitting your CCTV camera footage to the secure Safaricom cloud. Using it for any other purpose will interfere with your ability to store your footage.

What happens when I reach my backup cloud storage limit?

The system is configured to retain your footage for 30 days after which it will automatically over-write your earlier footage on a “First-in, first-out” (FIFO)

After installation, what do I do if I forget my password?

  • Go to http://CCTV.safaricom.co.ke
  • Click on the ‘forgot password link’
  • Enter your email address as instructed and click submit
  • You’ll receive an email with a redirect link to the reset password page
  • Enter your new password and click submit
