Easy Bundles

How do I subscribe to the service?

+

Pre-Pay:

  • Visit any Safaricom Retail Shop or speak to a sales representative  and present the following documents;
    • Copy of Business Permit, Trading License or Certificate of Incorporation
    • Copy of owner’s National Identification Card or valid Passport
  • Fill in an application form
  • Safaricom will register the mobile number you specified on the application form to Zidisha Plus. This will enable you, the sponsor, to access *485#
  • You will receive an SMS notification upon successful registration to the service
  • Dial *485# and select “Zidisha Plus” to;
    • Purchase the Easy Data Bundles
    • Add or delete employee mobile numbers
    • Check your Easy Data Bundle balances
    • Check your employees’ bundle balance

Post Pay:

  • Speak to a sales representative and present the following documents;
  1. For SME’s
    • Copy of Business Permit, Trading License or Certificate of Incorporation
    • Copy of owner’s National Identification Card or valid Passport
  2. For Corporate’s
    • Certificate of Incorporation
    • PIN certificate
  • Attach a list of all the mobile numbers that you would like subscribed the product
  • Fill in an application form (sales agent will provide you with this) and indicate your preferred Easy bundle
  • Submit all the documents above to your sales agent for processing, after which, you will receive the data bundles each month.

How do I buy the Easy Data Bundles?

    • Pre-Pay payment model:

Upon successful registration onto the service;

      1. Dial *485# and select “Zidisha Plus”
      2. Select “Buy a bundle”
      3. Select the mobile number you want to buy for
      4. Select “Data” Under bundle type
      5. Select either Easy30 or Easy50 Data Bundles
      6. Select mode of payment & confirm action
    • PostPay payment model:

Upon successful processing, the preferred data bundle will be provisioned on all requested lines automatically, each month.

What speeds do I expect after using up the bundles?

You will be able to enjoy different speeds depending on the bundle bought. Easy30 allows for up to 256Kbps while users on the Easy50 data bundle can get browsing speeds of up to 512Kbps.
A number of factors can affect speeds negatively ,some of which include the following;

  • Software and applications used for uploading and/or downloading files (such as Peer to Peer file sharing applications e.g. Torrent clients ) which demand significantly huge amounts of bandwidth
  • Spamming, virus activities, spywares and/or malwares residing in your devices
  • Fair Usage Policy- The Service is designed as a shared service and as such customers' activities will have an impact on other users using and sharing the same network. To ensure fairness and a good user experience for all Safaricom subscribers, Safaricom will implement a Fair Usage Policy

I am an individual, can I use the service?

No. The Easy Data Bundles are for registered small and medium businesses only

What if I do not exhaust my bundles by the end of the validity period?

  • For Pre-Pay, the Easy Data Bundles rollover as long as you buy another Easy Data Bundle before the bundle’s validity period.
  • For Post-Pay, any unutilized resources will be rolled over to the next month as long as the account is active and paid up.

Can I Sambaza my bundles?

No. The Easy Data Bundles cannot be shared to other mobile numbers. However, you can allow other users and devices to use your Easy Data Bundles by using a wireless router or creating a mobile hotspot with a mobile handset. Safaricom offers a wireless router which supports up-to 10 users.

How do I check my bundle balance?

Pre-Pay:

  • If you are an Easy Data Bundle User, send an SMS with the word “Bal” to 144. You will receive an SMS message with your Easy Data Bundle balance.  
  • If you are a Zidisha Plus sponsor, dial *485# and select Zidisha Plus. You can either check Easy Data Bundle by selecting option 3 “Check my balance”, or select option 4 to check your employees balance. You will receive an SMS message with the bundle balance in both queries.

Post-Pay:

  • Dial *200#, go to option 2 ‘Internet and Bundle Subscriptions’ then to option 6 ‘Check Bundle Balance’. You will receive an SMS notification with your bundle balance.

How many employees can I buy bundles for?

Pre-Pay:

  • As a sponsor, you can buy for up to 10 employees at any given time
  • A small or medium sized business can have up to 3 sponsors on Zidisha Plus 

Post-Pay:

  • You can buy for as many employees as you may require.

How many bundles can I buy within the month?

Pre-Pay:
You can buy as many bundles as you need.
Post-Pay:
Bundles are provisioned once each month. However, you can opt to purchase another bundle at any time if you are on a postpay hybrid model. Please ask your sales agent for more information about this.
