The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been dubbed the future of technology. The iPhone 7 is one of the most refined designs Apple has wowed the masses with.
The design is quite similar to the iPhone 6 series but there are distinct differences such as the stereo, antenna lines and a bigger camera. What gives the phone the avant-garde feel is the removal of the headphone jack so as to connect to the new airpods.
Sadly these don’t come with the phone. However, the quirky airpods are multipurpose and can be used for listening to music and having hands-free phone conversations. What’s more, they each carry a noise cancelling microphone to ensure all phone conversations are crisp and clear. To connect to Siri, a simple double tap on the airpods will do the trick.
In this new series the home button doesn’t move and that’s thanks to the Taptic Engine. Beyond offering the satisfaction of a click on the home button, the Taptic Engine also adds all kinds of fun feels to the phone such as the tiny bumping of the phone when the notification window is pulled down.
The phone also has the new A10 fusion processor boasting four cores -two of which are low special power cores which means the phone can use less power without stressing it to save battery life. You can get upto 8-10hours a day of battery life from the iPhone 7 and up to 10-12 hours a day on the iPhone 7 Plus.
Let’s talk camera. The iPhone 7 has an improved camera which is more powerful than all its predecessors. Both the front camera on both iPhone 7 have been upgraded to a 7 megapixel sensor while the rear camera on a regular iPhone 7 has a faster F1.8 lens and optical image stabilization to improve low light performance. The 7 plus has a radical dual camera system at the back with two 12 megapixel shooters, a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. The two cameras work as one entity so you can zoom from 1x to 10x. Photos not only look amazing but colors are more vibrant and the background is softer than on the iPhone 6. For all the budding photographers out there, this is a gem.
Apple also answered their fan’s wishes by announcing their first water resistant devices through the iPhone 7. This is good news for all those who have been counting down to the opportunity to take a dip with their devices. Moreover, the robustness of the device has been highly amplified with the new feature.
Jumping into the operating system. The iPhone 7 runs on ios10, which is more convenient and a joy to use. The lock screen automatically appears when you pick up your phone, swiping left from the lock screen brings you to the today screen, notifications and widgets are now capsulated in bubbles which makes it easier to see and swiping right from the lock screen brings up the superb camera instantly.
