SMES IN KAKAMEGA TOWN TO ACCESS HIGH SPEED INTERNET

Safaricom has today launched its high-speed internet dubbed ‘Fibre for Business’ in Kakamega town, targeting Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the region.

The internet is delivered through fibre technology, which has unlimited bandwidth capabilities and offers the fastest high-speed data connectivity. Kakamega becomes the eighth town in which SMEs can enjoy fast, reliable and affordable connectivity after Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Eldoret, Malindi, Machakos and Nanyuki towns.

Speaking during the launch, Safaricom’s Head of SME Sales and Enterprise Regional Operations, Agnes Gathaiya noted that fibre optic internet is becoming extremely critical as businesses move more services to the cloud to enhance business growth and productivity.

“With fibre for business, we are offering SMEs a tool and an opportunity to access fast, reliable internet that will effectively enhance business operations. Businesses that have embraced technology continue to gain a competitive edge and we encourage all SMEs to take advantage of this opportunity”.

Besides Fibre for Business, other propositions targeted at the SMEs include Easy50 and Ready Business.

The Easy50 data bundle for SMEs offers up to 50GB of data on Safaricom’s network and can be accessed by up to 10 devices, using a wireless router or smartphone as a hotspot for a flat monthly rate of Kshs 6,000.

The ‘Ready Business’ platform bundles together various technology and advisory services to empower entrepreneurs tackle challenges of a rapidly changing business landscape.
