- Connect the Mini-USB plug of the USB cable to the USB interface of the modem.
- Insert the main plug to the USB interfaces of the PC.
- Installation will start automatically. Click Next
4. Accept the terms of the license agreement and click next.
5. Using the default assigned location; click next
6. Here too, use the default assigned location and click next.
7. Wait for the software to be installed.
8. Once installation is complete click Finish
9. The shortcut icon, below, will appear on the desktop
10. Windows will find new hardware and install the modem driver automatically. Several devices will be added to the operating system as below.
11. Once your hardware has been installed and ready for use, the Safaricom Mobile Office will pop up
12. The network will be registered as below. The 3G Huawei modem comes with preset DATA settings with the APN as safaricom. Click on connect to achieve a connection
13. To discontinue the DATA session: click on Disconnect in the Safaricom Mobile Office window.
CREATING A NEW PROFILE MANUALLY - Double click on the Safaricom Mobile Office icon on the desktop
- Go to settings and select network connection settings
3. Click on New in the next window.
- Enter Profile Name as “Safaricom GPRS”
- Select Static in ‘APN and Additional settings’ and enter the APN as safaricom.
Under Authentication enter the following details;
i. Number: *99#
ii. Username: saf
iii.Password: data
Select Save. The profile is now ready for use.
4. Then click save to apply the new configuration settings. |
