Reduced Costs

Safaricom audio conferencing solutions deliver the benefits and advantages of conferencing that include reduced travel costs, more collaboration, and higher productivity – all this is achieved in a more cost-effective way. The subscriber is only charged a one-time set up fee for initiating each conference while the participants calling into the conference are charged the normal call rates by their respective providers.

Easy to use

The conferencing portal provides an easy to use Web interface from which subscribers can schedule, modify or cancel conferences as well as add addresses to the address book on their account. Once the meeting has started, the leader has full control via a Web interface and/or the telephone keypad.

Secure communication

Access to the Safaricom Audio conference is protected through the use of conference IDs and participant passwords. The host can hear a roll call of participants on the call at any time and can eject participants from the conference among other features. Entry and exit announcements can be configured in addition for the ability to lock the conference once everyone is connected.

Flexibility

Easy to administer conference setup allowing up to 50 participants along with the flexibility of having control and management of the conference via your Safaricom phone or your PC or a combination of both. While enjoying the substantial cost savings and enhanced security of a versatile conferencing solution, you can also be assured that you will not incur additional administrative costs.

How to Use

Subscribers to the service will be able to set up and manage all conferences from the Web Conferencing Portal – a Web secure interface that allows the customer to setup and manage a conference from anywhere, anytime.

The service also provides an IVR interface that allows both the subscriber and the conference participants to manage the conference from their phones.

FAQs

  • How many people can participate?

    A conference can accommodate up to 50 participants.

  • How do I add participants?

    This is done through the conferencing portal when one is scheduling a call, you add participants by either manually typing, via a text file or from the embedded address book.

  • Can I edit my details?

    You can log in to the portal and edit the details of the conference at any time before the start of the conference.

  • Can participants call in through their land line phones?

    Participants can call in to the conference from any provider as long as they have the conference ID; they will be charged the normal call rates.

  • How much does it cost?

    The service is charged a one-time conference setup fee of Ksh200 for each conference. Participants calling in are charged at normal rates.

  • Tips

    Remind your participants to take note of the conference start time and their secret conference ID. Schedule conferences at least one hour before in order to allow participants to confirm their attendance.
